C. Travelling within Central Tokyo
Central Tokyo is mainly covered by JR (Yamanote line, Chuo Line) and Subway (9 Tokyo Metro lines and 4 Toei lines). A single trip ticket starts from about 150 Yen (to around 300 Yen); and you can get it from the ticket machines at the station. However, if you intend to take trains/subways frequently, you can consider getting one of these passes.
Tokyo 24/48/72 hours Subway ticket (unlimited travel on 9 Tokyo Metro & 4 Toei Lines) http://www.tokyometro.jp/en/ticket/value/travel/#anc02
Store-valued IC Card that can be used on JR trains and subways. There is no savings on using IC Card. It’s more for convenience (no need to buy ticket on every ride). Just tap your IC card when you enter the gates and exit. SUICA. http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/pass/suica.html PASMO http://www.pasmo.co.jp/en/
Do not get the 7 days JR Rail pass (29,110 Yen) if you are just travelling around Central Tokyo, as the daily transport cost is only about 1,000 Yen.
To find out what trains/routes to take, you can refer to the following website/applications
Hyperdia Shinkansen/JR Train Planner http://www.hyperdia.com/en/
Tokyo Metro Mobile Apps http://www.tokyometro.jp/en/tips/connec ... index.html
Taxi is easily available. You can estimate the fare using https://www.taxifarefinder.com/main.php ... okyo-Japan Uber is not popular.
